Counselling for the things that feel difficult to carry alone

You may know exactly what you want help with. Or you may simply know that something isn’t right.

Wellness counselling offers space to talk, understand what you’re experiencing and work out what might help. We can start with what feels most important to you, even if it is difficult to put into words.

What can we work on together?

These are some of the concerns people bring to sessions. You don’t need a label or diagnosis to enquire. We’ll also consider whether your needs fit within wellness counselling or call for another kind of support.

    • Anxiety and overwhelm

You may be overthinking, sleeping poorly or feeling on edge. Together, we can explore what contributes to those feelings and practise ways to respond when worry builds.

If your symptoms suggest that you need clinical assessment or care, I’ll discuss an appropriate referral with you.

    • Relationships and marriage

Perhaps conversations quickly become arguments, or you feel distant even when you’re together. We can look at the needs, hurts and assumptions involved, and practise clearer ways of communicating.

    • Pornography, sexual behaviour and shame

It can be difficult to speak about behaviour you want to change, especially when shame has kept it hidden. You can bring it into the conversation without being judged.

We’ll explore the situations and feelings linked to the pattern, what it has been doing for you and practical steps towards change and honesty.

    • Grief, loss and life changes

Grief has no fixed timetable. Sessions give you space to speak about what you have lost and how life has changed, without pressure to move on before you are ready.

    • Low mood and feeling stuck

When your energy or motivation is low, even small tasks can feel demanding. We can explore what has been difficult and what feels manageable now.

Persistent or severe low mood may need assessment by a GP or psychologist. I’ll be clear when your needs require support beyond my scope.

    • Personal growth

You may want to understand your habits, clarify your values or make more deliberate choices. Counselling can offer space for those questions even when you are not facing a crisis.

Not sure whether your concern fits here? Send an enquiry, and I’ll explain whether I can offer appropriate support.

    Ways we can work together

    Individual counselling

Individual sessions give you room to speak honestly about your own experience. We can explore what has been happening, recognise patterns and practise different ways of responding.

Sessions are available in person in Cape Town and online across South Africa.

    Couples counselling

When a relationship becomes caught in recurring conflict or disconnection, it can be hard to see what each person needs. Couples sessions give both of you space to be heard and to understand the pattern between you.

My role is to support a fair conversation and help you work towards clearer communication and greater understanding.

    Family counselling

Family sessions offer space to understand relationship patterns, hear different perspectives and work towards clearer communication together.

    Group counselling

Group sessions provide a supportive setting to explore shared concerns and practical ways forward.

What happens in the first session?

We’ll begin with what brought you to counselling and what you hope might change. You don’t need to prepare a polished explanation.

We’ll also discuss how sessions work, confidentiality and its limits, and how often it may be useful to meet. The aim is to begin understanding your needs and decide together what to focus on.
